Prayer Pastor and congregation
We rejoice, O merciful God, with these individuals in the gift of the Holy Spirit, and in the Spirit’s power to awaken us to new truth and to inspire us to venture into fullness of life.
We give you thanks that they have been moved to affirm their baptism. Help them to live not for themselves but for Christ and those whom Christ loves.
Keep them steady and abounding in hope, never giving up, pressing toward the goal of life with you in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Statement of Faith 2021 Confirmation Group and Congregation
We believe in God, who created the world, created the energy that is humanity, who helps me find my path, and sent the Son Jesus Christ to teach us about God and his ministry. We believe God will protect us on our journey of life and helps us feel safe through our family and friends.
We believe Jesus was a messenger from God, sent to save us from our sins.
We know the Holy Spirit is forgotten by many people and feel sad about that, but we also believe God’s Spirit is here for us, and that there is an energy in us that connects us to everything and everyone

Hymn Words:
“You Have Come Down to the Lakeshore” (“Tú has venido a la orilla”), Words and Music: Cesáreo Gabaraín
v. 1: You have come down to the lakeshore seeking neither the wise nor the wealthy, but only asking for me to follow. O Jesus, you have looked into my eyes; kindly smiling, you’ve called out my name. On the sand I have abandoned my small boat; now with you I will seek other seas.
v. 2: You know full well my possessions. neither treasure nor weapons for conquest, just these my fishnets and will for working. O Jesus, you have looked into my eyes; kindly smiling, you’ve called out my name. On the sand I have abandoned my small boat; now with you I will seek other seas.
v. 3: You need my hands, my exhaustion, working love for the rest of the weary – a love that’s willing to go on loving. O Jesus, you have looked into my eyes; kindly smiling, you’ve called out my name. On the sand I have abandoned my small boat; now with you I will seek other seas.
v. 4: You who have fished other waters; you, the longing of souls that are yearning: as loving friend, you have come to call me. O Jesus, you have looked into my eyes; kindly smiling, you’ve called out my name.
On the sand I have abandoned my small boat; now with you I will seek other seas.
“I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry Words and Music: John Ylvisaker
v. 1: I was there to hear your borning cry, I’ll be there when you are old. I rejoiced the day you were baptized, to see your life unfold. I was there when you were but a child, with a faith to suit you well; I’ll be there in case you wander off and find where demons dwell.
v. 2: When you found the wonder of the Word, I was there to cheer you on; you were raised to praise the living God, to whom you now belong. Should you find someone to share your time and you join your hearts as one, I’ll be there to make your verses rhyme from dusk to rising sun.
v. 3: In the middle ages of your life, not too old, no longer young, I’ll be there to guide you through the night, complete what I’ve begun. When the evening gently closes in and you shut your weary eyes, I’ll be there as I have always been with just one more surprise.
v. 4: I was there to hear your borning cry, I’ll be there when you are old. I rejoiced the day you were baptized, to see your life unfold.
